So I'm doing environmental project atm and we have to create a house that is environmentally friendly. We've decided to base our house on this one: A Straw Bale House. It's actually quite interesting because almost everything is so different from what a regular house uses and yet a normal person can live there without noticing and changes in their lifestyle. What I found most interesting is probably the urban plaster they use. They use clay and sand, horse and cow manure, straw fibres and wheat paste as a bonding which is more awesome than the stuff they use on regular houses.A straw bale house has one of the best fire ratings. This for a couple of reasons.. Firstly the straw is compressed. Trying to set one on fire would be like trying to light a phone book. Not impossible, but not easy. Next, straw bale homes are covered in 2 to 3cm of render. Render does not burn. Therefore, strawbale homes are very good in fire prone areas.
Strawbale construction has enormous potential. Especially when its combined with other energy efficient techniques like the ones shown in this video. The downfall of almost all things environmental is society's view of the people who endorse them. The general public has a difficult time respecting the opinions of a guy with a pony tail. Thankfully things are beginning to change and green building is no longer being reserved for the social circles of tree huggers.It's just so awesome when the guy said that he had to only pay a max of about, 20 bucks was it? for the heating and water because the straw covered for the rest
In any case, I feel really excited to do this project... just filling in you guys about what is happening in my life (like anyone cares LOL)

TOUHOU UPDATE!!
I beat my ironic character. YAAAHHHHH~
It gave me an awesome conquering feeling...
The funny thing was... I didn't realize I was playing against a boss because all I concentrated on was NOT DYING
...which can't be good because she was damn hard to beat

So today... went to the closest mall with a friend I shall not name.

" shall we? ;DAnyway, so the funniest thing happened at one of the stores we were in.
Over the announcements, the person was saying something being free, and only for adults underneath the colourful swirly thing.
We laughed at the adults part, but were really curious because... come on. It's FREE!
You'd want it too so just admit it now when no one can hear you
So we were looking around the place for where they were giving out this free item for adults under the colourful swirly thing when lo and behold it was EXACTLY where we were just a few minutes ago when we were listening to to the announcement
Anyway, so we sneak behind the shelves getting closer and closer to see what this free item was.
We hid because we didn't want to be the only teens there surrounded by adults.
urns out that the thing they were selling was those lens wipers!!
We were really disappointed cause who needs those when you have tissues and water?
Very depressing and disappointed feelings
HOWEVER! it was so funny when we were sneaking around
It was like we were fugitives or something hiding from the police...
But our real motive was to see what the free item was, and if it was good enough for us to ignore our pride and stride right up there all proud-like and ask for it amidst all those adults

UofT thingy tomorrow, but not going because of environmental project.

First Dish: Crab, scallop, chicken egg, and two types of duck egg
Second dish: Bak Choi(White Veggies...?)
In any case, I obviously eat more of the first dish than the second one.
The only time I'll ever like Bak Choi is when it is cooked with my mom's special sauce.

Warning: Some adult language.
So I like watching the Discovery Channel. Dirty Jobs is one of my favourite shows because watching Mike Rowe is always interesting. His humour is entertaining and it's always such a joy to watch him experience what most people never get a chance to. In this video... I find what he says very true and somehow it made me humbled. Every time I watch these influential talks that I can relate to, I always feel like I walk out of my bedroom just a little bit wiser. Not smarter; wiser. I feel like I can conquer more problems, more unexpected circumstances that come my way, and ultimately become a better person.
Watching dramas is the exact same thing; I watch for the entertainment purposes, but when it comes the time where the main character has that realization moment, I understand the things they say, why they say it, where they are coming from, and learn from their mistakes. Dramas are, well, overly dramatic, but for me, I live off of those scenes where there is a major turning point. I don't watch dramas just because it's funny and stirs my emotions, I watch them because I feel like I can become a better person by learning off the mistakes. It's a very common theme I've picked up in most dramas I watch: If you want something, you have to work for it. or Doing the right thing when you know what the people beside you are doing something wrong. Believing in yourself and chasing your dream by working hard for it. Becoming someone your parents can be proud of. Things like that, is what I love the most about the dramas. Sure they're funny, sure they're sad... but when it comes down to it, what you learn from the drama is more important than remembering the actors' and actresses' names.
